My story
I picked up a bat at three. My first season of under 12s, I absolutely sucked. I remember crying after games because I couldn’t get any scores, and I was one of the worst in the competition. Then I asked my dad for private coaching, and the very next season I had my best season ever. I topped the runs in the competition, started making rep teams, and my confidence skyrocketed. But when I turned 17, the mental side caught up with me, and nobody was coaching that part of the game.
I started HPFB to give young batters what I didn’t have: sound technique, real confidence and a process that holds up when cricket gets hard.

The signature programme
Real improvement isn’t a one-off. Over 12 weeks, I work personally and methodically with each batter, fixing technique, building a game plan and strengthening the mindset behind every innings.

Still unsure? Here's what parents and players ask me most.
Book a Free Zoom ChatEvery player starts in a different place, which is why I start every program with a full analysis of your batting, so we're working on what will actually make a difference for you. My players' results speak for themselves: averages going from 7 to 50+, 10 to 42 and 12 to 40+, first hundreds, and around 70% going on to play rep cricket. It's not magic. You have to listen and put in the work. If you do, I'll work just as hard for you. Book a free Zoom chat and we'll work out together if it's the right fit.
Every player's program is tailored to where they're at and what they want to achieve, so pricing depends on the program. The best first step is a free Zoom chat. I'll learn about you or your child, answer your questions, and take you through the options and pricing. There's no pressure and no obligation.
Each session runs for one hour. A typical session is 20 minutes of technical drills, 20 minutes facing sidearm, and 20 minutes facing spin. For players just starting out, it's closer to 30 minutes of drills and 30 minutes of free batting.
I've been coaching full-time for 5 years and have coached 100+ cricketers, from 7-year-olds through to adults. I came through Gold Coast Dolphins rep cricket and state carnivals, played Taverners a year above my age group, and played youth and senior cricket in New Zealand. I had 11 years of private coaching myself, so I know what great coaching looks like, and what was missing. I'm Cricket Australia Level 1 accredited, hold a Blue Card, and over 20,000 cricketers follow my drills on Instagram. I'm always learning new drills, skills and coaching methods.
We'll book in your first session, where I take you through a full analysis of your batting: technique, setup, shot selection and mindset. From that, you'll know exactly what we're working on over the next 12 weeks, and every session builds on the last.
Real, lasting improvement doesn't happen in one session. A 12-week program gives us time to fix things properly, lock them in, and see the results carry into match days. I don't leave anything unchecked. We keep working on it until it's fixed.
Anyone from around 7 years old through to adults, from complete beginners to rep players. Boys, girls, women and men are all welcome.
Yes, and it's a big part of what makes my coaching different. Cricket is a game of confidence, and one ball can end your innings. I help players manage nerves, build a game plan and develop a process to bat well from ball one. It's the part of the game I wasn't taught at 16, and it's why I started High Performance for Batsmen.
In-person sessions are at Southport Labrador Cricket Club on the Gold Coast. I also offer online coaching through one-on-one video calls and analysis of your net-session footage, so you can train with me from anywhere.
One-on-one private coaching is my signature program and where players see the biggest results. I also offer semi-private group coaching (max 4 players, 2:1 ratio), clinics for clubs and schools, school holiday camps and cricket birthday parties.
Batting is my specialty, but yes, I also offer bowling coaching.
